What is CalVine?
CalVine Nursery specializes in providing grapevine rootstock cuttings to other nurseries. Our objective is to maintain good, clean stock that meets our customer's expectations. Meeting our customer's expectations requires good communication, so please give us a call to discuss your specifications (cutting length, minimum and maximum diameter, etc).

Ordering information:

We are a small nursery operation, and try to be as flexible as possible to meet your needs. Meeting those needs requires good communication, so please give us a call to discuss your specifications (cutting length, minimum and maximum diameter, etc). Cuttings ship between January and May, depending on customer needs. Shipment in December is possible, but may have an added charge.
The optimal timing for placing an order is just as soon as you have a confirmed need. We take orders year-round, and our inventory is limited to what plants we have established. If a particular rootstock variety is popular, we often have constrained supplies that sell out quickly. Our inventory can be viewed on this website, but please call to confirm availability. Prior to January, inventory is an estimate.
Between January and May, the live inventory reflects firm numbers. Old cuttings are discarded by May and the inventory becomes an estimate for the next harvest.

Product

Our standard cutting is 14" (35 cm) in length, and has a minimum diameter of 0.28" (7 mm) and a maximum diameter of 0.50" (12.5 mm). We can meet other needs if orders are placed in advance of our harvest, which takes place in January each year.

Pricing

Pricing depends on variety, quantity ordered, and special requests. For a standard cutting of most varieties, our base price is $0.40 apiece, or $0.50 apiece for international nurseries. Quantities above 5,000 are eligible for volume pricing and free delivery within California. Please inquire for shipping costs if ordering below this threshold, or if located outside California.

Shipping outside the US

We are able to ship cuttings to a number of locations outside of the US if given sufficient notice to work with our local authorities. For international exports, shipping is FOB to ports in California (Los Angeles or Stockton are preferred), and minimum order quantity is 10,000 cuttings.
